There's no need to construct a straw man suggesting I'm a classicist snob. Throughout this thread I have acknowledged the musical importance of people such as Duke Ellington and Miles Davis. I could name many others from the jazz, blues and big band era. My thesis is not so elitist as to suggest classical music (a broad term used to encompass Renaissance Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern) is the *only* music worth listening to. (I'm listening to Gershwin's "April in Paris" as I type.) I’m merely pointing out the decadence and intellectual poverty of rock. Of course, one is free to agree or disagree. I have no agenda and do not seek converts. :)
