I upgraded my Trek 5000 to 9 spd. Ultegra triple...




Works a treat!

Note the Nitto stem and bar. This is how the old timers in San Francisco roll with their older quill-stemmed bikes.

Once you get into your 'later years', being 'aero' on a bike doesn't do much more than hurt your back. :-(

And the titanium railed WTB seat is comfy enough for the few miles I ride at a time.

This is the bike I rode all summer here in Northern New Mexico. Will try to get the Madone on the rode next spring. It's a bit more 'racy' in rider position, but not too bad.
