Of course, in a modern tube design, the plate current in a bifilar output transformer is cancelled by the plate current in the other half of the winding to the other output tube.That is, of course, unless you happen to do single-ended. Now I have to admit that I've never found them very interesting, I learned to recognize the assymetric sound very early on and I never liked it.
