Hi.Why open up another can of worms by adding an auto-transformer type reactive load in the O/P load circuit??
The sole objective of OTL is to say so-long to any capacitive & impedance matching inductive devices in the O/P circuit to achieve unimpeded music signal tranfer. That's why a good OTL design blows away any powerstage designs using conventional inductive impedance
reducing devices, sonically & technically.By choosing the right O/P tubes & parallel them up, O/P impedance will drop to pretty low without need of any sonically degrading impedance matching irons usd in convention tube powerstage topology as a matter of course.
Any OTL DIYer surely knows 6C33C-B twin-triode O/P tube, a former Soviet jetfighter instrumentation tube, now a very popular OTL power tube in the free world at large, with low low internal resistance 80-120 ohm !!!!!
Only 4 tubes in parallel employing Circlotron OTL can deliver 125W on 8R load on class AB2 on a Vp only lowly 145V! This makes the amp building so much simpler, less bulky & less costly as contray to using up to 20x 6AS7G in parallel.
Believe it or not, this heavy-weight built biggie power tube only sells US15.00 a piece on-line.
The superb sounding Tenor 75W monoblock only used 2 6C33C-B parallel to deliver up to 80W from 4-16 ohm load with O/P impedance measured 0.76 ohm !!!!
Who said only transistor amps can deliver high power ?
