You're correct for one count, at least.

HI.

Julius Flutterman's original 1954 OTL design indeed used tons of NFB to balance it. But the O/P impedance was still pretty high.

With an improved "A variation on the Flutterman" OTL topology, the O/P impedance drop up to 4 times, e.g. 6R something. NFB still needed, much less scale.

With differential balanced bridge amp topology basing on the 1951
original Circletron achieves really balanced O/P without need of global NFB.

How good does a really good OTL amp sounds? I can use a few words to describe one: smooth, silky & deep 3D.
