Thx for your wrap-up.
I do agree that it's a pity that there is no real acceptable (to me)
DLNA/Upnp controller coming close the my Squeeze ecosystem.
That's why I do not like this DLNA structure at all.And this is actually one of the main reasons for not buying the 7050.
Then I wouldn't ever use the JRMC eco-system.
Using another transport to feed the 7050 and even another
interface (USB-SPDIF) are NoGos from my point of view.
It requires a top level and highly tweaked transport
and e.g. an Audiophilleo to achieve good soundquality via USB/SPDIF.
The NAD devices are all but immune against changing conditions on the
interface side. (NAD is not alone here)
That would reduce the whole AllInOne purchase to absurdity.
I do also agree that it requires wired networks, if you consider
streaming better stuff then mp3 or redbook flacs. That's also my experience.
A real pity that NAD is not offering plugin style APIs or open access to the device (which probably runs a Linux inside). This way
Squeezelite or MPD could easily be implemented. The 7050 would be similar
to a Squeezebox Touch from a handling perspective. I'd guess that NAD sales would seriously increase. They wouldn't face any license issues, since the community would build the stuff in.
Off Topic:
BTW. How do you like the Gallo's? Are these the Strada Reference II?
I'm tempted to try these. The review an 6-Moons was pretty enthusiastic.
Price/performance ration seems to be outstanding. I did found some rather negative reviews on the net recently. That still keeps me off placing the order.Cheers
