RE: Opinions of Class D amps with high efficiency speakers?

Class D was invented in the 50's and took this long get popular due to quality of the components being better now than decades ago. Funny class D is still hated by some.

Back in the day talking late 60's when the first solid state amps come out publications like Stereophile & absolute sound said solid state would never take over the sale of tube amps. And they did leaving tubes in the dust. Now fast forward to a few years ago when good Hypex class D started entering the audio market people at Stereophile (know it all's) on the internet said class D will never take over class A and class a/b. And despite what the (know it all's) say class D is taking over.

I use a NAD with Hypex Ncore class D with old Altec 604's and my own DIY speakers that are 98dB sensitivity. Class D are amazing!!!

The day of having to sell a testicle or a kidney to buy an audiophile amplifier are over. I do not miss the day of having to own a 200 pound amp with a toroidal transformer power capacitors the size of beer cans drawing enough currant I would have to upgrade my circuit breakers. And when I power on my amp everyone in the neighborhood's lights dimmed and flickered.

I personally will never own a tube or class a or a/b amp again period. Five years from now in 2030 if America still exist Class D will be 95% of the market. Saying or thinking class a or a/b will make a come back will be like thinking film cameras will make a comeback !!!!
