Starting with the Sonic Impact, over 20 years ago, and tested by Klipsch engineers as a "very good 6 Watt amp" that Paul Klipsch would have been impressed with.........."what the world needs is a good 5 Watt amplifier."
I then jumped, SOUND UNHEARD, on the purchase of Twin Monobloc Hypex NC-400's as the easiest Kit I ever built to replace my wonderful Nelson Pass Class A, "space heater," on my new Synergy Horns, also purchased sound unheard.
I now have all Class D chip amps from TI, after purchasing 2 of their Eval boards with the 3255. I also had the 3116's for tweeter duty at one time.
Amplifiers have gotten good and cheap, well beyond the appreciation of the remaining Valve Heads out there! with 20-23 db watts per 2 channels for $80-200!!!
