I should have been more clear about the Xmax assumption, the numbers from Terry's site just said:
SP15
Re = 5.5
Fs = 40
Vas = .2804
Qes = .49
Qms = 5
Qts = .4463
Sd = .0806
Pe = 50 watts
Xmax = .0051
Le = .3
Mms = .05135
BL = 12.036
1w SPL = 97.6
Hence, my uncertainty about using those numbers without any unit of measure. I played around with BoxPlot and WinISD a bit last night using the above numbers. I was pleasantly surprised to find the SP15A in the database of WinISD, and its numbers are very similar. Anyways, a 14ft^3 box tuned to 36hz looks real good, flat to 50hz, F3 of 34hz, and F12 of 25hz. A 10ft^3 box is very similar, just with a little less extension.
Fortunately WAF doesn't really come into play as this is our Music/Listening room and it already has guitars and amps cluttering up the decor. I am using an old Harman Kardon A300 integrated PP 6v6, and to my ears it is a good match for the speakers. BTW, I have been listening to my EVs in an 8ft^3 dish pack moving box with a couple pieces of 1/4" ply sandwiched around the speaker opening for support, and while not ideal, they have been pretty satisfying while I decide on their future home.
Thanks again for your and Fred's input.
Greg
