Okay guys, enough thinking about it, time to get off my a$$ and actually build some cabinets for my beloved Knight/EV 15TRXs.
Freddyi, I know you will want these to go in a pair of Karlsons, and believe me it is very tempting. I have also thought about trying them on an open baffle, but then I'll need to augment them with a sub. A big BR would be simple, but how do I go about tuning them without proper T/S specs?
I have been dreaming the most about building some rear loaded folded horns with a rear exit, mouth area 24"x24", horn length 8'. Kind of like a JBL "scoop" with the exit turned around to the back. My listening room, 12'x12' with 3'x2' and 5'x6' extensions in opposite corners will be set up on the diagonal with the room extensions to the left and right of the speaker-chair triangle. My intent is to place the speakers with their back outside corners touching the walls and allowing the horn mouth to exit against the wall at about a 45 deg. angle, thereby increasing the effective mouth area and extending the total horn length a tad bit also.
Is there a chance in Hell that the 15TRX will work in a BLH or should I stick with one of the other alternatives.
Thanks, Greg
