RE: Achieving ultra quiet with M3 pre




I built my M3 with the changes seen in the picture so I cannot tell you how much improvement there is but it is very quiet with 100db speakers.
Ensure that the shield between the power supply and output sections has a good ground. On mine, the shield and chassis needed a bit of paint scraped off. I also moved the transformers like some folks. I ran the signal lines in copper tubing which is grounded to the chassis. No sense in having wires acting like antennas especially so near a power supply.
