I totally agree. It is more important to enjoy the build.
I don't expect people to follow the way I wire things up - it is just a personal preference of mine.
It is usually more important to get the grounding right and keep wire clusters away from each other (especially if one is power AC and the other signal or AC/DC) and sources of interference such as transformers etc.
