In the same way NAD buys in expertise from ESS in order to include the best available DAC in their units, so they choose Purifi to provide the expertise regarding Class D circuitry. What's your beef about that?
Most brands, even the most expensive / respected ones do exactly the same as they are rarely able to provide the recourses to design these specialist parts themselves. It's the same with cars and dishwashers -lots of parts are "bought in" in order to offer the best result for owners.
My point is that many "Purifi Eigentakt" amplifiers offered by obscure brands or available on Ebay etc use the Eval(uation) board that Purifi generously make available, primarily for DIYers. NAD wants a better Eigentakt in their Master Series (as do one or two other brands such as T+A) and they therefore build a better version under license. What's your beef about that? Of course they are more costly, and why shouldn't they be? Did you buy Purifi amp that use the Eval board? You owe it to yourself to audition a top ranking alternative. ;-)
