Having experimented with many Class D amps over the decades (along with my traditional SS and tube amps), I would say Purifi is current state of the art sound - BUT I have yet to listen to GaN FET designs. I think recent ICEpower is also excellent. My least favorite were a couple nCore Class D amps. Just my opinion of course.
My previous amp:
PS Audio M700 Class D monoblocks - ICEpower based and excellent.
My current amp:
NAD C298 Class D stereo - Purifi Eigentakt technology
The NAD is a little more 'spacious and 3 dimensional' but the PS Audio was slightly more robust in the lower mids.
