With all the not absolutely sure of how it'll sound &/or last, maybe I should just go with orig'l Mag T-1D thin alum tweeter voice coil wire? Mag has responded via e-mail & said it's still available at $10/tweet panel. Also, my tweet panel upgrade will not be clam shelled glued back together. I'll be able to do future EZ access inspections & redoings. Think of all the reusable tweets in the trash since say 1980. Back then it was cost effective to replace with new ones, but not nowadays at $500USD+/pair.
Also, am I correct in thought that the extra 6 double voice coil runs in the bass panel centers are not for performance? It's done only to achieve the proper resistance/impedance? I see SMG's with double voice coil runs across the entire smaller diaphragm? If yes, shouldn't I do only single runs & add a good quality resistor adding up to the proper amount thereby reducing the diaphragm wt by say 20%?
