RE: DIY Remylar Method (cont)

The Kapton for tweeters is useful if you can reduce the foil mass substantially - which is what the heat resistance of the Kapton allows. On the Neo8 (Kaladex - a cousin of Kapton) they use an etched voice coil that is quite thin. If you can devise a way to lay down a thinner foil - perhaps get the Kapton aluminized and etch it chemically, as foils that thin are prone to tearing. Perhaps you can find a thinner foil tape with a protective plastic layer that can be peeled off after adhesion???
