RE: N.B.: "New MMGs" and "MMG's price"

The apostrophe in "MMG's" does *not* signify the possessive. I had thought everyone learned in elementary school that the plural of an abbreviation is constructed with an apostrophe before the "s," as too numerals ("5's") and letters ("s's"), but it seems our educators no longer bother with such niceties.

Further discussion may be found online, but I warn you that the rules become very arcane very fast, and are not at all standardized, in that recognized authorities, e.g., the MLA and major publications, draw the line at different places; for example, some use the apostrophe after an abbreviation that is spelled with periods ("M.I.R.V.'s") but not after an abbrevation that is written without ("MIRVs"), apparently believing that if some punctuation is ommitted, it should all be; or perhaps that acronyms have become so common, and are so typically pronounced phonetically, that they should now be treated more like words.

The matter will ultimately be decided according to house style by the copy editor. However, the apostrophe avoids an obvious ambiguity -- some model numbers end with a lower-case "s," creating ambiguity between a model number and the unapostrophized plural. For this reason, the use of the apostrophe is in my opinion advisable except where house style says otherwise -- besides which I seriously don't give a fuck. :-)
