Jim, I have never heard the 3.6s in situations that were fully conducive to their best performance.
However, I have twice heard the 3.6s in the same place as I later heard the 3.7s. The latter, with two different sets of driving gear at different times. This was at the local dealer and always using my own music selection, for hours each time.
I never got to "crave" the 3.6s. OTOH, the 3.7s are on my wish list for when I have a larger place. Other people have already mentioned their virtues. I was surprised to find a speaker that delivered all of them in a demo room.
Nevertheless, if you have the opportunity, try to listen to them first. I have no idea of how well a set of 3.6 can get to be if given a chance in their own optimized environment.
