Thank you for your kind words. Maybe with enough positive feedback, the looks will grow on me. I should have weighed the monsters before I hooked everything up. The crossover boxes and amps are all hard wired so disassembling it all is more than I’m willing to do at this time. I can tell you that the Alpha Core inductors in each box must weight close to 10 lbs. Just for estimation sakes, the frames are roughly 25 percent heavier than normal wood frames because of the added back support frames. The VMAX adds a bit to the driver’s weight as well.
To finish my frames, I used a profin manufactured by Dalys. It is a liquid that is oil wax based that comes in either gloss or stain. I used gloss. It’s extremely easy to apply. Just wipe in on with a cloth. It dries in 4 to 8 hours. A word of caution: Do not put too much on at once. I had to do some re-sanding because of drips. I used three coats.
