I can remember lusting after that Linn turntable in the late '70s! At the time I had a Perpetuum Ebner, but I had those advertising slicks for the Linn LP12 and an Empire table which I used to oggle from time to time.
My stand would just be attached to ordinary wallboard - well, structurally, it would be attached to 2x4s on an internal wall (behind the plane of and between the speakers, or possibly to the outside of the right one). Would it need to be made from aluminum or could wood also work? This is like the idea I had for my speakers - it's been rolling around in my mind for a couple years now and, although I don't have a written plan, I do have a 'working mental model'. One of these days, I'm just going to have to let it out - maybe it's time!
