Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

My system is entirely analog. I have a subpanel for my audio system. My phono stage is the Manley Steelhead, Amps are Tenor OTL, and I use a Basis table. Approximately once every 3-4 hours of listening I get a loud "pop" sound. I have been able to rule static out - I won't bore you with the details as to how. I am farily certain that the "pop" is being caused by the cycling on/off of an appliance or air/heater unit. I can induce the "pop" when I turn my de-humidifier off/on, my ice maker, my central air, etc. I am not using any sort of filtration device currently. At first I thought this may be phono stage related, but I get a quiet "pop" when it is powered down with just the amps on. Any thoughts/ideas? Thank you!Todd Coleman
