RE: Glad you found the source of the problem




If I decide to re-affix the caps to the board, I'll use another method rather than Blu-Tack, 1973shovel. Double-sided, adhesive-backed 3M foam mounting squares are a better option for the purpose (see link below).

At this point, I plan to replace the stock Panasonic FC capacitors with Nichicon FW capacitors, since I gather the Nichicon FW provides better spatial information vs. the Panasonic FC which is said to be dryer sounding, as well. A pair of Nichicon FW cost less than $10 including shipping, so I won't be too disappointed if it's a lateral move, and it won't be such a bad thing if they sound inferior, and get tossed into an orphaned audio parts box as a result.
