That sort of noise can really be annoying and not always easy to track down. I'm glad it stopped.
By the way, it sounds like your mods were very worth while. Anything one can do to increase the enjoyment of listening to music is a plus in my opinion, and it sounds like these mods were very successful in that sense. Thanks for posting. I don't post often, but I read the asylum frequently, and use it also as a reference, and your opinion is one that I value highly, especially when it comes to AC cables and connectors.
