I have not loaded the (A) stage at all (in my own splif amp).If you read my article til the end, there is another example shown for a smaller amp modification "add a pair". This can be done with little parts and efforts.
In my amp (4+1 pairs) the insertion of the splif topology did not increase power consumption at all, since heavy loading of the feedback pair is indeed not required.The really cool thing is the feedback switch, so you can switch feedback on and off. If the switch is closed, you have a regular amplifier without any compromise, open the switch, you have removed feedback from the loudspeaker and have a splif amp.
This way, you can really try out, if you like the feedback or not.
