Nope, you can't move the vertical studs. What you are looking at are engineered trusses, you can't move or change the lumbar without effecting the trusses overall strength. Trusses are a great choice for garages (as well as other sturctures), they can span the entire garage from wall to wall without any internal support beams or poles in the middle of the garage, which are always placed exactly where your car door will open.

I originally wanted a 14x26 space above in the truss design, but the bottom cord would of have to have been made from 2x12 which would have up the cost, and more important changed how the garage would look from the outside. It would have made it look unusually tall, so that was out. I wanted it to fit in well with the design of the house it is next to.

I'm sure Nocturne had similar constraints.

Be sure and keeps us informed how you treat your new listening room. I'll be starting on setting up mine next spring/summer (to much snow here in the winter to be working in a garage shell that is still unheated LOL...
