I have built chassis from wood in the past and glued surplus circuit board material to the inside for shielding. Remember to solder the pieces of circuit board together and then tie them to ground. I've even used the material as the ground by soldering my ground wires to the copper at a point near the input jack ground. I haven't had any noise problems. YMMV
