Yes, positive pressure would need to be maintained if for no other reason than you will most likely have minor leaks. You could put a pressure gauge on the filling valve if you wanted to see the pressure inside the tubing at all times. This would allow you to disconnect the Nitrogen bottle until you needed it agian. BTW, a small gas bottle should last a long time for the short length of tubing we're talking about here.Mike
