Doesn't somebody already make something like this? I recall seeing a picture in the back of one of the audio rags showing a pair of glass tubes (about a meter long) in a Plexiglas stand with leads connected to both ends. I don't recall the details, but I assumed it was some sort of vacuum system. BTW, I'm single and a rather rabid "audio nut" with a dedicated listening room, but even I would hesitate to have these bizarre-looking things in my house!
