In reference to the 901's, I think people for the most part either love them (music lovers) or hate them (audiophiles).The one thing I definitely love about them is the fact that they don't have to be optimally set up in order to sound pretty darn good.
I think that if you just want to sit back, relax and listen to tunes without the worry/hassle of constant tweaking, incremental movements of a speaker this way or that; this wire or that wire or power conditionor or whathaveyou, the Bose 901's are a nice way to go.
I love mine. Hopefully, yours will find its way into your speaker "stable".
