What is interesting, to me at least, is that most of the bands mentioned are at the jam/noodling end of psych... as opposed to the more arranged, poppier end, more like Love's Forever Changes, which I for one would class as psych.
I don't expect to find anything current as out there as Van Dyke Park's Song Cycle, but who knows...???
