I did the whole clean, etch, etc. process but that didn't seem to work. The painters first sanded off the old coating as well as roughing up the base for better adhesion. Which left dust everywhere as is still visible in places. Even got in the closets. Put down first coat, took a siesta and then the second coat.
I'm hoping that's the key difference. I didn't feel bad for the $1800 charge as it took three of them all day long!
You might have gotten my UK custom humor regarding tea. On one trip to Scotland, our B&B hosts were perplexed that my wife likes (unsweetened) iced tea. I got a Coke someplace and was given a lone ice cube. When I requested more, they happily complied but gave me a look like "why on earth do you want so much ice?" :)
