When we were seated directly above a large percussion ensemble of St. Petersburg Orchestra playing all Stravinsky program it was awful. Personally I do not think the sound at the terrace is not that great altho my friend loves it because he can see all the musicians. Those terrace seats were added later to increase the hall revenue. I think they were the part of the problem that ruined the hall acoustics. They spent $$$ to fix and for the most part it's ok but The Orchesta Hall is no Carnegie.
