From what I have heard as I demoed it in my system the Jolida JD-100 is one to consider. With some tube rolling you can further refine the sound to you liking, but in general I fould it to be relaxed. A used Naim (3 series) is a bit over your budget, but IMO is also has a relaxed presentation.
