If you want tube type at low cost, get the EICO Classic 2200. With some simple mods as shown in the AA Review section, easily surpassed some modified Scott & Fisher tube type FM tuners I owned in the past. Or just kills stock Scott & Fisher tuners.

Solid-State? Then, Sansui TU-S9 or Sansui TU-717 are good tuners without breaking the bank.
