I've got the Youloop on a lazy susan, on a table in the center of the room.
I sit at a desk in the corner, the antenna is behind me, so tuning is
pretty easy. Haven't tried it outside yet, though

Output is run through an a/v receiver and bookshelf speakers. Headphones
might help, but I live alone and don't generally enjoy h/phones.
