I have a Discovery, too, but I hadn't discovered the splitter, probably
because I've not been paying attention to revisions. I'm still on 1831.
Overall I really like the unit, but I can tell my antenna situation is
holding it back. I don't have the FM/TV antenna wired to that end of the
house, so I'm relying on a Youloop. For AM, I have a Select-A-Tenna facing
it, with my long wire plugged into the S-A-T. The combo definitely kicks
the signal up above any of the individual antennas and lets me peak specific
frequencies on the BCB.
