just today got my MR 71 tuner, McIntosh, from Tom Manley at
http://www.mcintoshaudio.com/
included was a super owners manual, which i need to understand the controls.
tuner in mint condition, sounds great. condition is beyond belief. wow!
Tom Manley is an old fashioned, honest man. i would buy anything from him with the greatest confidence. he took endless time on the phone with me.
OK- dumb questions for you guys who know WAY more than I
1. is there supposed to be a "top" on the tuner? the tubes are just exposed.
2. i hooked up a cheap dipole antenna, to the 300 ohm screws. would the SOUND benefit from me getting a high quality 75 ohm antenna? Tom added a 75 ohm connector in the back.
3. any other advice?
this so far receives WCRB 99.5 from Boston, classical station, JUST GREAT!
i would recommend Tom with no reservations.
have a great day! bob
