Linearity? Ever try a triodes-driving-MOS-FET power amp?

Hi.

I always think triode is the most active linear device.

So using them to drive a MOS-FET powerstage would be ideal, correct?
But, I am not convinced yet - sonically.

I am quoting a worldwide reputable tube amp maker: Tenor Audio Inc. of Canada, which built the "best sounding" power amp dollar for dollar, using triodes througout from I/P stage to powerstage, employing a balanced quasi-Circlotron OTL-OCL topology - Tenor 75WP
75W monoblock.

This is the only amplifier impressed my most so far, despite its selling price being so moderate - only a fraction of the price of some excellent sounding amps in the marketplace that could barely touch its sonics.

Ironically, its Belgian designer used only the cheapest tubes we can imagine, 12AX7 driving 6H6p & 6H30p, driving 4x6C33C-B power triodes. Each tube we can pick up for a few bucks !!

Unfortunately, the Canadian amp builder decided to discontinue its production & switched to hybrid - triodes driving MOS-FETs.

I was really saddened when I listened to this new hybrid power amp with the identical money-is-no-object matching components in the same dealership couple years back. I never got back the musical quality & engagement I enjoyed in its world renowned precedecessor.
