I would strongly suggest there is nothing in the "debate" between audiophile subjectivists and objectivists that requires any scientific study at least in the fields of sound, sound perception and audio equipment. The "debate" only exists because of ignorance and beliefs about the physical world that are wrong.

There are significant vested interests that promote and maintain audiophile beliefs and so the ever present, steady pressure from scientific knowledge and reasoning is resisted albeit at the cost of isolating the audiophile world from the wider worlds of audio, science and technology.

Would you like to suggest a topic from the "debate" that you feel science should investigate?

Why? Both objectivists and subjectivists often state what does and does not support their claims. A reasonable proportion of these are perfectly valid and supported by established scientific knowledge as can be established by looking it up in technical journals or talking to those familiar with the subject.

Why do you think the topics have not been studied by science and, probably, quite a long time ago?

Do you think audiophiles have taken the time to get informed about what science has determined about the topics they are emoting about? Consider your own knowledge about the subject. Where has it come from and is it reliable? Might it have been coloured by the self interest of the source?

Have you seen people that are actually knowledgeable in the fields of sound, sound perception and audio equipment take part in audiophile debates? If so, what side, if any, did they take?
