Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

You've never been more wrong -- 180 degress away from reality this time ! So now I'm suspicious this is a set-up!

Golden ears = "I know what I hear, all components sound different, and I could never be wrong"

Objective audiophiles = "I know from experience it's possible to imagine hearing differences, and easy to mistake small meaningless A-B SPL differences for meaningful sound quality differences. Therefore I will do a blind test to be more confident I really can hear a difference ... before I state my subjective opinion about a component."

Leventhal, who obviously never participated in a blind test, did not realize that 16 votes in a blind test are the result of 100 to 200 comparisons over several hours. He seemed to think there were only 16 comparisons. Plug in the numbers 100 or 200 comparsions and Leventhal's arguments fall apart like a cheap suitcase. And speaking of cheap suitcases, your post is so far from reality this time that I can only wonder what you are drinking, not IF you are drinking.

Objective audiophiles are only confident that audiophiles are people, and people can make mistakes.

Golden ears are confident mistakes such as imagined A-B differences could never apply to them, because they are perfect!

Leventhal's claim that 12 of 16 correct answers in a blind test is too tough for times when component differences are sometimes heard, but not always ... is proof he must not have much contact with other audiophiles because it is very rare to hear any audiophile say: "sometimes A sounds the same as B, and sometines it doesn't".

There is no anecdotal evidence to even suggest that 12 correct out of 16 trials is too tough! I think 12 rught out of 16 is too easy because it allows 4% false positives from lucky guessing!
