Magnepans or full-range electrostats can give the sound-stage you seek.Speakers with time-correct crossovers/drivers, such as the Revel and Vandersteen lines, can do more than pin-point imaging as long as they receive a good, clean signal. One effect of RF noise is to bring the sound-stage forward and to flatten it, so that everything seems to be spread left-to-right but with little or no depth. This could be the source of your dissatisfaction with your present setup.
