Hi folks.
I am looking for a good multichannel soundcard. I came across a Mackie Onyx Satellite - a firewire card. It was recommended by a guy selling lots of PRO-stuff for DAWs.
It is 24/96 only. It comes with great Mic preamps and 6 output
channels.
The build-quality is just great. SNR is not really great -- 104db.
However: The guy in the pro-shop was telling me that this device
would be soundwise much better than a e.g. EMU 0404 USB ( if 96khz is sufficiant). The Mic pre-amps are just great.
The card was sold in the 600$ range before and is now for sale at 199$.
Does anybody has experience with this device?
Cheers
