fyi foobar wasapi plug-in output bit depth

I normally use an ASIO output in foobar2000. The output format is greyed out so one cannot select bit depth. It automatically detects 16-bit or 24-bit material and maintains bit perfect no matter what is playing.

Not so with the wasapi output plug-in. On 16-bit material, it is important to select 16-bit. Leaving it at 24-bit, while playing 16-bit material, causes the sound to be processed and you are no longer sending unadulterated music to the dac.

Not sure how many people have this configuration, but makes it somewhat inconvenient if you have a decent amount of 24-bit files in your collection.

FYI.
