We use both in the M-60 MkIII. It makes little difference if you have 2 0.5 ohm resistors, one in the plus and one in the minus side of the supply, or just one 1 ohm part (which we put in the minus leg).
M-60s get used on a lot of horns, so its important for it to be quiet. The one ohm resistors and the 2 2200uf caps that follow it see to that. Its also handy to test the phase of the secondaries of the B+ transformer: one way is quieter than the other.
