Re the 1K resistor, if you have a schematic, look at the positive nodes of the two bridged output supplies. There you should see a 1K resistor connecting them together. If you don't see it on the schematic, then look inside your amps. If you don't see it there either, then you don't have it, is all I can say. Obviously the circuit operates with and without it. Question is which sounds best. It was on the schematic that Ralph gave me when I bought my MA240s (as kits!). Therefore, we installed it as directed by the schematic. That was 10 years ago. Ralph told me and Tv says too that it provides degenerative NFB. Are your amps relatively recent production?
