Hi Lew,
Some years ago through the Atma owners group, Bill Daly special ordered some 5600 uf Panasonic caps from Digikey because they came in the 35mm dia pkg so they would drop right into the M60's. A bunch of the members bought some of them from Bill and they sounded great and have been very reliable. Prior to that I had bought some 3300 uf 35mm snap in multi terminal THUD 105 degree Pannys from Digikey and they were also great sounding. As far as sounding faster--I could not tell any difference between the 3300's and the 5600's. Of course there was a little better bass with the larger caps. I too was using Paul's resistor/cap/resitor/cap mod. You might want to use a bigger cap than a 2200 uf so you could use less of them. I don't think you could hear any thing faster between the 3300 and the 2200. I talked to Bill Layer last year about what they were using in the factory gear and he told me they were using the Nichicon's 1800 uf. They were ordering them in large quanitys OEM.
