Speaker Cables or No Speaker Cables

I can place my new M60 mk.II.2 right behind my Coincident Total Victory speakers. The speakers have their binding posts at the bottom of the speakers.

My question is: If I remove the bottom cover of the M60's and remove the leads to the amps binding posts, I can connect them directly to the speakers. This will by pass the need for speaker cables.

What are the benefits to bypassing speaker cables?. Should I space the leads as far apart as possible?, or should I keep them close?. Are there capacitance / inductance / impedence issues that are improved with speaker cables. Am I a fool?.

If it is advisable to do this, and I only need a short length of cable, do I try to get a pure silver cryoed type cable?. Am I an excessive compulsive lunitic, honest Your Honor, no.

No kids or pets, and no warranty concern, only the music matters.
