Although I do use the ECC99 as CCSs in both my amps and my MP1 preamp, I am not using an
ECC99 as the amplifier tube in the linestage of my MP1. Instead I use the standard 6SN7, but I
have doubled the current supplied to the 6SN7 with good results. I agree that the ECC99 is a
great tube with a lot of potential and that we are all lucky someone is taking the trouble to build
such a novel tube in this day and age. I periodically get the urge to stock up on them, lest they
go out of production and become $50-a-piece ebay items.
