According the tube data http://www.pmillett.addr.com/tubedata/7236_TS.PDF the 7236 is rated max 300 volts, so 140 volts is no problem.
May be you're right about not liking fixed bias but else then the data of 6AS7G, the data of the 7236 neither the data of 5998A speaks about not liking fixed bias. For the data of the 5998A see http://www.pmillett.addr.com/tubedata/5998_TS.PDF
The construction of the Sylvania version is very different from the Tungsol or the Cetron.
