The polarity switch on my otherwise fabulous MP-3 preamp appears not to work. I listen only to LPs and used a test LP with in/out of polarity bands to confirm this. Is the problem more likely to lie with the preamp or the recently re-terminated DIN-XLR phono cable? The phono cable is a (not very good) van den Hul D501 Silver Hybrid (due to be replaced later this week with a Cardas Neutral Reference) and was modified by a third party, apparently as per the instructions on this website.
Thanks very much for any assistance.
